Job Role: Application Developer with DevOps Engineer experience consultant
Location: REMOTE Kansas City, MO - Prefer local candidates(Onsite interview)
Position Type: Contract - 12+ months
High Level Technical Skills/Experience Required:
This consultant will join a team with software engineers to perform a variety of software development assignments for the MFL Shipyard team. The current focus for this team is a combination application development and CICD pipeline tasks but could pivot to other tasks such as: such as: standardizing and migrating java applications to k8s, building and standardizing local development environments, supporting other cloud-based application migration initiatives
- Mentor team members.
- Create, maintain, and troubleshoot software.
- Create and maintain documentation.
- Root cause analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Include the day-in-the- life: Attend daily standups, report progress, plan for the day and impediments.
- 3 or more years of experience with Java development
- In-depth knowledge of Maven, including the use of parent POMs and Bill of Materials (BOM) to manage project dependencies and configurations effectively.
- 2 or more years of experience writing complex SQL queries
- Experience writing configuration files in YAML
- Strong communication skills for cross team collaboration
Skills considered a plus but not required:
- Experience and successful deployments running applications on Kubernetes
- Understands and proactively structures code to be maintainable and minimize cognitive load
- Understands and follows design principles
- Champion of quality and automated testability
Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of industry-related professional experience and education.
