The Business System Analyst (BSA) assists the Member Engagement staff in understanding the organization’s operational needs for both automated and manual solutions to business systems and procedures of diverse scope. The BSA is involved in planning, organizing, and conducting detailed analytical studies to define areas of opportunities and propose solutions which will positively impact the enterprise’s effectiveness. This rile is responsible for documenting the functional and non-functional requirements for the system definition and design processes within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). They work with the business stakeholders to define roadmaps for product development.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Conducts interviews to gather new requirements autonomously; employs elicitation techniques as needed and use specific collaboration methods for reviewing and confirming the outcome of the elicitation sessions.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand current processes and identify areas of opportunities for improvement driving change and addressing any potential risks.
• For moderately complex requests/projects, leads or performs analysis of business and user needs, translates requirements into proper user stories, and reviews them with internal and external stakeholders.
• Communicate the business directives, goals, and needs to the technical team and serve as business interface from the enterprise’s operational management team managing expectations and defining business satisfaction metrics.
• Applies general industry and regulatory compliance knowledge to the benefit of the business.
• Participates in an agile development team, ensuring features and functionality requested by users align with business goals for the product, particularly as goals and products evolve over time, as well as ensuring the right information is available to the engineering teams, with the right amount of detail, and at the right time.
• Conducts peer reviews, evaluating clarity, conciseness, comprehensiveness, and appropriateness of user stories or documentation.
• Guides the design, development and documentation of system process workflows and various implementation activities that deliver business solutions required of the business.
Requirements:-
• 5+ years of professional experience in a technical and analytical role. Preferably in healthcare.
• Education: Master’s/ bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Desire but not required - BA Certified from IIBA.
• Being familiar with at least the following BA knowledge areas:
o Business Analysis Planning and Monitoring
o Elicitation and Collaboration
o Requirements Life Cycle Management
o Strategy Analysis
