We are looking for a Full-time contractor or employee for an Cloud Solution Architect role.
The Department of Information Resources (DIR) requires the services of One Software Engineer hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of Infrastructure Cloud Architect and the specifications outlined in this document for client - Social Services Applications team. The Cloud Solution Architect will provide strategic guidance in the development process, make technical decisions regarding solutions and explain how they will impact the organization.
As part of client IT Applications – Social Services Applications initiatives, the Infrastructure Cloud Architect will be responsible for:
? Plan and engineer organization's cloud computing infrastructure and applications. Implements and designs infrastructure and software.
? Ensure HHSC best practices and methodologies are applied to the design, deployment, and operations in the cloud.
? Define and develop blueprints and roadmaps for building solutions in the cloud (preferably AWS)
? Develop roadmap for cloud monitoring, implementation, and strategy
? Ensure compliance with enterprise security configuration standards
? Work closely with other teams to ensure solutions are engineered and deployed meet business objectives and regulatory requirements.
? Provide cloud operational guidance both internal and external operation teams
? Investigate and provide feedback on new AWS services and solutions.
? Performing continuous research on emerging technologies to stay updated with the best alternatives, investigate and provide feedback on new services and solutions offered by the CSP
? Providing technical oversight, review, and quality control throughout the life cycle of the implementations
? Engaging with Cloud service provider around solving technical problems in the Cloud ecosystem
? Support DevOps functions to best utilize cloud resources with software configuration management and continuous integration tools.
Skills(Required):
- Hands on experience in designing, executing, and supporting IT cloud solutions.
- Experience with technical architecture, cloud platform development, cloud strategy, IT strategy, and infrastructure strategy
- Experience implementing Client-facing applications with responsive design and development
- Experience with deployment and orchestration technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, OpenShift)
- Hands-on experience participating in all phases of Agile development
- Experience with cloud technology, including Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
- Hands-on experience with adjacent technology areas including Security, Identity / Access Management and Monitoring.
- Experience with virtualized environments (VMware vSphere 5.x) and knowledge of provisioning hardware, storage, resources, and configuration/administration, including high-availability and failover services for cloud infrastructure
- Experience with state eligibility systems, either State of Texas or other states, experience in integration with Federal agencies (CMS, Federal Hub...)
- Experience testing and Integration with CMS, SSA, DHS, IRS and other third parties
- Experience with virtualized environments (VMware vSphere 5.x) and knowledge of provisioning hardware, storage, resources, and configuration/administration, including high-availability and failover services for cloud infrastructure
- Experience leading heterogenous teams in “bakeoffs” to evaluate container orchestration technologies against a standard set of requirements to identify the optimal choice
- Experience working with application teams to migrate their applications to the clous, identify potential performance blockers and implement solutions to mitigate
Skills(Preferred):
- Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server 8 or later and JBOSS
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD methodology
- Hands-on development experience for mobile and tablet platforms
