TRN Systems Inc. is seeking qualified individual as a Data Analyst.  This individual would be responsible for legacy system data analysis to support preparation and planning for conversion to a new system. The qualified applicant will have demonstrated analytical, facilitation, writing, client relationship skills, and excellent communication skills to interact with business and technical SMEs

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform data analysis of legacy data systems using complex SQL queries and data profiling tools.
  • Create and maintain data models.
  • Develop data dictionaries based on legacy system documents, data analysis and interaction with technical and business SMEs and other resources.
  • Facilitation of group meetings and documentation of outputs.
  • Develop data flow diagrams specifying how/what data is exchanged between databases and external parties.
  • Create charts, graphs and flowcharts and specifications
  • Identify data quality issues using SQL queries and data profiling tool and propose remediation options.
  • Log data quality issues and track them.
  • Participate in testing activities
  • Create staging databases using backups of production databases.
  • Experience working with Alteryx 
  • Experience working with State Motor Vehicle operations is a plus

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in planning, designing, building and implementing IT systems
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading/supporting data analysis projects, including data cleansing and conversion
  • Experience working with State or Federal Governments a plus
  • Experience working with State Motor Vehicle operations a plus
  • Demonstrated Experience using the following tools:
    • Erwin Data modeler
    • Microsoft Visio
  • Experience with Alteryx a plus
  • Experience with SQL Server RDBMS.
  • Experience with SQL Server Management Studio and Microsoft Power BI.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft-based office applications and SharePoint
  • Demonstrated experience on enterprise data migration and conversion projects and teams
  • Ability to analyze existing artifacts, rules and provide solutions to meet future needs of the agency
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work in a self-directed manner to accomplish objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized and multi-task; establish and follow priorities
