Job Description:
We are currently in search of a Data Analyst who specializes in Reference Data and has hands-on experience with Derivatives.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and analyzing data related to various derivative products such as options, futures, swaps, and other financial instruments.
The role requires a deep understanding of reference data management, financial market concepts, and the ability to analyze complex data sets to support trading, risk management, and compliance functions.
Responsibilities:
Analyze and manage reference data pertaining to derivatives trading, including but not limited to product specifications, market data, counterparty information, and pricing.
Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of derivative reference data across systems and databases.
Work closely with the trading, risk management, and compliance teams to provide data that supports derivatives trading and reporting.
Develop and implement data quality checks to identify and remediate data discrepancies or anomalies.
Collaborate with IT teams to improve reference data systems and processes, ensuring efficient data capture, storage, and retrieval.
Utilize data analysis tools to interpret complex datasets, provide insights, and support decision-making.
Prepare and present analytical reports on derivative products and reference data trends to stakeholders.
Stay abreast of regulatory changes affecting reference data requirements for derivative products.
Participate in reference data projects, including migrations, integrations, and the launch of new derivative products.
Liaise with data vendors and service providers to resolve any data quality issues.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Data Analyst, with a focus on reference data management and derivatives.
Very Strong understanding of derivative financial instruments and their market data requirements.
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Python, R) and database management systems.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
Knowledge of regulatory standards and reporting requirements related to derivatives.
Attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a quantitative field.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Familiarity with financial data providers and platforms used in derivatives trading.
Understanding of risk management concepts and how they relate to reference data.
Certifications such as CFA, FRM, or PRM are preferred.
