DCPS aims to engage an experienced developer with 11+ years of experience to make critical enhancements and updates to a previously created DCPS School Funding application in QuickBase.

Complete Description:

Quickbase Developer (Contractor). DCPS aims to engage with an experienced developer with 11+ years of experience to make critical enhancements and updates to a previously created School Funding QuickBase application. The Developer will develop and implement custom pages using both the QuickBase API as well as regular QuickBase interface. The project requires someone with substantial front-end development experience (JavaScript and HTML). The major updates to this application include developing a fund source tracking mechanism that provides DCPS accounting details on how funding provided to individual schools is budgeted, an enhancement to an approval flow process that has multiple reviewers and approvers, connecting feeds to other QuickBase and PeopleSoft systems, and updating the front-end for principal users to match current trends in HTML formatting, among other items. The Director of School Finance will assign priorities to the contractor on-site and make every attempt to provide advance notice of new assignments. Reasonable time frames for agreed upon tasks will be provided when possible; however, the developer should expect to work in a fast-paced environment and within a compressed timeline due to the demands of the DCPS budget formulation process. Critical tasks shall be discussed weekly, and the timeline shall be agreed upon by the contractor and the Director of School Finance. Evening and weekend work may be required during the beginning phase of the project (Dec 2022-Feb 2023) Required and preferred qualifications and skills: 1. A solid understanding of information flow, database fundamentals, and technical requirements listed below are necessary for this position. a. 2+ years of QuickBase App Design and Development b. 11 years of custom form/page/workflow design and development c. 11 years of front end reporting and dashboard design d. 5 years of JavaScript with JQuery e. 11 years of HTML f. 5 years of MySQL g. 5 years of Oracle (PeopleSoft applications) h. 5 years of Linux i. 5 year of Python/Bash/Shell Other Requirements 1. The contractor shall meet with the Director of School Finance, within one (1) working day after the start of the engagement to obtain an overview of the project priorities. 2. Access to classified documents, data, studies, reports, and other documentation and information may be required. Consequently, background and fingerprinting are required. Access to the Background and Fingerprinting Check Form will be provided as part of the onboarding process. Further, the contractor will be accessing a private, filtered network and the duties to be performed by contractor personnel have been designated as non-sensitive. As such, contractor personnel assigned under this contract must have taken CIPPA, FERPA and HIPPA training. Information gathered, developed, analyzed, and produced under this contract remain the property of the district and shall be protected from unauthorized or inadvertent modification, disclosure, destruction, or use. Prior to the arrival of any contractor employee to commence work under this contract at any District Government site, the contractor must provide advance notice to the Government for visitor control purposes and verification of background and fingerprinting clearance.
