We are seeking an experienced Automated Firmware Test Engineer to join our team, focused on testing and validating firmware and device hardware within a Mesh network environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring data transmission accuracy, troubleshooting firmware and networking issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality.
This role requires strong expertise in automation testing, Python with Robot Framework, networking protocols, and hardware validation. The ideal candidate should have experience in gray-box testing and a deep understanding of firmware validation in networking devices (routers, switches, wireless access points, etc.).
Key Responsibilities

Perform manual and automated firmware testing for networking devices, ensuring accurate data transmission.
Develop and execute test scripts using Python, Robot Framework, and Bash.
Validate networking protocols including IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, DHCP.
Conduct root cause analysis of customer issues, document failures, and drive resolutions.
Support manufacturing teams during quality issues and stop-ship scenarios.
Work closely with Product Management, Core Engineering, and Technical Management Office to enhance firmware quality.
Represent the support team in CAPA (Corrective Action & Preventative Action) meetings.
Ensure compliance with company Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy.
Perform other assigned duties related to firmware testing and quality assurance.
Required Skills & Qualifications

5+ years of experience in firmware quality assurance engineering.
Experience with hardware testing (routers, switches, wireless access points).
Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.
Strong expertise in Robot Framework for automation testing.
Knowledge of C and C++ for embedded firmware testing.
Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux environments.
Deep understanding of networking standards and protocols (IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, DHCP).
Experience in both manual and automation testing.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with networking hardware (Cisco, Qualcomm, etc.).
Previous leadership or mentoring experience.
Familiarity with RTOS and embedded systems.
Experience testing gas meters, water meters, or IoT communication devices.
Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent documentation and reporting abilities.
Ability to collaborate across teams and drive quality improvements.
