Job Title: GCP Data Engineer
Location: New Jersey (Hybrid)
Visa Type: Open to all except CPT (W2 or 1099)

Job Description:
We are looking for a talented and experienced GCP Data Engineer to join our team at Wells Fargo. In this role, you will design, code, test, debug, and document innovative technology solutions for complex projects and programs. You will collaborate with senior technical experts to resolve complex challenges and support the development of Data Mesh capabilities to improve data accessibility across various platforms such as Hadoop, Teradata, and SQL Servers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, code, test, and document technology solutions for large-scale projects and programs.
  • Align technology solutions with business objectives and enterprise environments.
  • Develop and evaluate companywide best practices for engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior technology teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Contribute to the development of Data Mesh capabilities for improved data accessibility.
  • Prepare pre-work for data exploration and analysis to support Data Science functions.
  • Support System Testing, UAT, and develop test automation for batch processes and APIs in a CI/CD environment.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, writing user stories, and contributing to project sprints.

Required Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), specifically with DataProc, DataFlow, BigQuery, and other GCP tools.
  • Extensive experience in Big Data platforms like MapR, Cloudera, HDFS, Spark, PySpark, and Hive.
  • Proficiency in event-driven solutions using Java, REST APIs, Apache Flink, and Kafka.
  • Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases like MongoDB, SQL Server, Atlas, and Azure SQL.
  • Familiarity with wire formats (XML, JSON, Avro, CSV) and serialization/deserialization techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, including Kerberos, JWT, and their integration into data platforms.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, including writing user stories and participating in sprint ceremonies.
