We are seeking a full-time contractor or employee for the
Lead Java SOA Developer
position.
Job Description:
We are looking for a Lead Java SOA Developer to join the client’s Applications team and support Social Services Applications initiatives. The role involves developing, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting applications such as Eligibility Web Services (EWS), EWS business processes, EWS batch, and ESB.
Responsibilities:
Develop, enhance, and maintain applications within HHSC’s SOA platform using Agile methodologies.
Participate in requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment of new components.
Collaborate with teams to achieve project goals.
Create technical and design documentation as needed.
Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
Identify opportunities for software configuration and performance tuning.
Develop and maintain data and process models.
Use modern testing methods to ensure application functionality and reliability.
Provide technical support for testing and implementation efforts.
Support web-based Java applications, addressing defects, maintenance, and production issues.
Improve application performance and reliability through code development and testing.
Required Skills:
Extensive experience in developing and maintaining enterprise applications on the J2EE platform.
Proficient in all phases of the SDLC.
Experience with J2EE Application Servers, authentication/authorization, and caching strategies.
Strong programming skills in Java, J2EE, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, CSS3, Bootstrap, SASS, Angular, Typescript, Spring, JSP, JSON, XML, ES5/ES6, NPM, and Maven.
Experience in developing Spring Boot REST APIs.
Familiarity with IBM BPEL or similar business process methodologies.
Skilled in creating reusable, testable modules and components.
Experience with test-driven development using Karma, Jasmine, and Selenium.
Experience with ESB workflows and transformations (e.g., IBM DataPower).
Knowledge of best practices in application design, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server 8+.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum preferred).
Experience developing web applications for Cloud platforms.
Experience with IBM BAW and DataPower.
Experience developing for mobile and tablet platforms.
