Role: LTE 4G/5G RAN Test Engineer
Location: Denver, CO - ONLY LOCAL
Duration: 6+ month - Long term
Interview: Phone and Skype

NOTE :: Must be willing to live/work in Denver. Due to COVID-19, teams are currently working a rotating schedule: 2 weeks onsite, 2 weeks remote in Denver.

Ideally someone who has done 5G RAN gNB deployments with very large experience on 4G/LTe RAN eNodeB deployments/Debugging with additions on Mobile log analyst and EPC log analysis.

Our Fortune 500 Telecom client is seeking a Device Test Engineer for a long term contract engagement. The CBSD eNodeB and gNodeB Device Test Engineer is responsible for the development and engineering activities supporting LTE/5G CBSD for eNodeB/gNodeB technologies. This candidate plays a key role in evaluating new technologies and services prior to the integration and deployment into the client’s network. The LTE/5G CBSD development Engineer creates strategic test plans that ensure performance and stability of Wireless products in the client’s network ensuring the highest levels of customer and operational satisfaction. You will collaborate with Network Architects and Product Development on business and technology requirements and assess vendor solutions to address the requirements. You will work with Network Architects to create detailed test plans and certification curriculums, proof of concept trials, and methodologies for analysis of performance criteria. You will develop test procedures for execution by cross-functional teams of device testers in external labs, oversee the execution of these tests, provide testing status to management, debug software and hardware issues in a lab environment, and work with CBSD device vendors to track and resolve issues found during testing.

Skills / Abilities and Knowledge:
Experience in testing of LTE Core interfaces (S1, S5, S10, S11, Gx, Gy, Ga etc and performing Call Processing testing with LTE EPC
Experience in testing 5G Core Interfaces (N1, N2, N3) with Core NW debugging experience on NSA and SA configurations
Experience in testing 5G RAN components as RRU, DU/CU for vRAN configuration
Thorough understanding & Hands-on experience on 4G/5G Core Network Elements Testing like MME, S/P GW / AMF, UPF, AUSF/ AAA
Well known CBRS spectrum frequency and FFC requirements (600Mhz and 3.5GHz)
Good understanding of 4G/5G Core Network Architecture and interfaces
Automate test cases to cover Functional , Non Functional and Regression test cases using Robot Automation Framework
Able to prepare 4G/5G Core test strategy, test plan and test execution of new network uses cases
Radio integrity control: BLER, CQI, MCS usage, SINR, retransmission rate, UL RSSI
Radio capacity monitoring: RB usage, number of users, UL power head room
Mobility performance: intra and inter eNB HO success rate, IRAT success rate
WiFi IEEE 802.11, specially ac and ax versions. IP package routing, NW logging tools and debugging capabilities
Experience in testing of LTE/5G eNB/gNB Modem/Smallcell functional and integration testing
Experience in testing of LTE/5G eNB/gNB functional and integration testing
Good understanding in LTE/5G protocols - NAS, RRC, PDCP, MAC, PHY
Basic understanding on LTE/5G E2E system, Network Architecture, Interfaces & Protocols
Exposure in NMS/EMS/SAS systems, UEs tools (QXDM, TEMS)
Must have excellent problem solving, debugging and trouble shooting skills
Hands on experience on Robot Automation framework & Python scripting
Automate test cases to cover Functional , Non Functional and Regression test cases

Required Skills:
. 5+ years overall Wireless Testing experience
. 5+ years of Wireless LTE RAN testing experience
. 1+ year of Wireless 5G RAN testing experience
. Should have excellent knowledge of Android and IOS platforms.
. Excellent knowledge of 3GPP R15standards
. Experience developing automation utilizing PERL and Python programming languages.
. Should have excellent knowledge with common mobile handset operating systems (Windows Mobile, Android and other Java-Linux platforms) and knowledge of UICC/SIM chipsets & modules relating to wireless devices Knowledge of RF or Network System Performance.
. Should have knowledge of various Network adjuncts and services i.e. AAA, Diameter, EAP, PDSN, LTE Data, VoLTE, GRE, Soft GRE, L2TP, CAPWEP.
. Experience using protocol communications test equipment and tools (LTE system simulators, wifi analyzers and packet sniffers
. Understanding and/or experience working with the following is a plus: RRC, NAS, SIP, IMS, OSGI, and DHCP.
. Experience with testing and Q/A of Layer 1 thru 7 networks
. Experience developing automation scripts utilizing TCL, PERL, and Python programming languages a plus.
. Experience writing and developing detailed test cases and test plans
