Migra&on Business Analyst
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
Act as the liaison between business stakeholders, IT, and external vendors throughout the migration process.
Communicate migration progress, challenges, and key milestones to stakeholders, ensuring they are informed and aligned with the overall strategy.
Provide insights and updates during stakeholder meetings, helping them understand the impact of migration on operations and workflows.
Change Management & Business Impact Analysis:
Assess the impact of the migration on business processes, systems, and users.
Collaborate with change management teams to develop strategies for smooth adoption of new environments and systems post-migration.
Develop and document business process changes, system modifications, and potential training requirements.
Testing & Validation:
Coordinate and support testing efforts during migration phases, ensuring that workloads are properly validated in the target environment (performance, functionality, security).
Work with QA teams to develop testing plans, execute test cases, and track defects or issues during the migration.
Assist in managing user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that the migrated workloads meet business requirements and user expectations.
Post-Migration Support & Optimization:
Support post-migration activities, including validating that workloads are performing as expected in the new environment.
Identify opportunities for optimization and fine-tuning of the migrated workloads to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure the migration delivers the expected business value, including improved performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Documentation & Reporting:
Document the entire migration process, including requirements, planning documents, migration plans, and testing results.
Produce regular status reports for stakeholders, outlining progress, risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
Qualification & Experience:
Bachelor s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on IT migration, cloud adoption, and/or workload migration.
Certifications (Preferred)
Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP).
Agile or Scrum certifications (CSM, SAFe).
Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure)
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), and data center operations.
Experience with different migration strategies (lift-and-shift, re-platforming, re-factoring, hybrid) and their associated challenges.
