Immediate need for a talented Mongo DBA. This is a 06+ month contract to hire opportunity with long-term potential and is located in U.S (Remote). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Pay Range: $55 - $60/hour.  Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Upgrade, install and maintain Mongo Ops manager
  • Maintain and manage Mongo atlas(cloud) deployments
  • Apply MongoDB Security with Enterprise version including setting up SSL and LDAP
  • Install/configure/upgrade/patch/maintain MongoDB replica and sharded clusters
  • Provide guidance and support to Application Developers
  • Assist with schema design and query tuning
  • Proactively and regularly make recommendations for system improvements
  • Create/update automation scripts (Python, Cron jobs).
  • Participate in the team scrum ceremonies
  • Complete the stories assigned during a sprint.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
  • Participate in the team scrum ceremonies
  • Knowledge transfer sessions with the Mongo DBA team members
  • Mongo Database Administrator
  • Mongo Database Engineer
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science/ Engineering
  • At least 2-3 years exp of MongoDB experience (Replica Set + Sharded Cluster) – large clusters experience is helpful
  • Atlas Cloud (especially Atlas Migration experience) – big plus (at least 6 months of hands on exp would be beneficial)
  • Automation using scripts
  • Monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Client, Ops Manager
  • Production Support – if an application is down, can jump on call and do analysis
  • We are looking for candidates who are driven and looking to learn and is ready to get hands-on with Mongo DB (Not looking for a Lead).
  • They need to be able to be present on team calls and participate
  • Need to have drive to ask for more work when finishing up a project, eager to learn.
  • Required Skills/Experience:
  • MongoDB administration.
  • Cloud experience (Atlas).
  • Schema design and query tuning.
  • Preferred Skills/ Experience:
  • Automation Scripts (Python, Cron jobs)
  • Linux server.
  • Kafka.
  • Software Skills Required:Database Administration, Querying, NoSQL database knowledge.
  • Required Certifications:Mongo DB (nice to have, but not required) HM looking at practical experience as well.
