Three Submittals - $87.00 pay rate.
ON SITE REQUIRED: 3 days/week - Mon. Wed required w/choice of Thurs or Fri In-Office
Duration: We do expect to renew in July and expectation is that it would be for a full 1 year extension.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Employment at Virginia ABC is based on a standard 40-hourwork week on a hybrid remote/in-office basis. All contractors are required to be in the office on Mondays and Wednesdays and will have the choice to be in the office either Thursday or Friday depending upon their schedule and the needs of their assigned projects.

This contract position is for a Senior Project Manager on the IT Project Management team at Virginia ABC. The selected candidate will be coming in to manage the implementation of ACH payment capabilities to our alcoholic beverage pre-order and licensing management features in our MIPS and VAL systems.

ABC is looking for a seasoned project manager who brings their knowledge and experience to the table to manage an at-times chaotic environment with shifting priorities. The incoming candidate needs to be a self-starter and fast learner, who remains calm under pressure and can respectfully and professionally deal and negotiate with difficult stakeholders. Lastly, the select candidate must possess the ability to quickly learn the politics of a new organization and establish good working relationships that will drive the project to success.

Primary Responsibilities:

?Clearly identify and articulate project objectives and goals and ensure they are achieved

?Develop comprehensive project plans and manage project portfolios that encompass scope, timelines, dependencies, budgets, resources and milestones

?Conduct effective project stakeholder analysis to ensure that the right individuals and groups are engaged in the appropriate activities for the duration of the project

?Ensure all activities align with the project strategy and project goals, and coordinate efforts across various teams to maintain progress and quality

?Create and maintain detailed documentation of tasks, processes, and decisions to track progress and maintain accountability

?Lead and coordinate pre-project impact analysis activities

?Partner with other IT resources to validate and ensure that technical feasibility, quality assurance, and maintainability goals of the project are met

?Swiftly identify risks and develop effective mitigation strategies

?Request and allocate resources based on project requirements and availability

?Track and seek to obtain resolution to issues that jeopardize attainment of project goals

?Simultaneously manage multiple high-priority, complex projects

?Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques

?Lead and coordinate project teams by mentoring and motivating members, fostering a collaborative and communicative environment

?Define project roles and responsibilities to ensure that the team works cohesively and efficiently

?Manage coordination between various teams and stakeholders, swiftly resolving any conflicts or issues to maintain smooth project execution

?Establishes clear and appropriate communication channels to ensure that all stakeholders (business, IT, and/or 3rd party vendor) are informed and engaged

?Organize effective meetings to address concerns and provide valuable feedback, ensuring everyone is aligned with project goals


Required Experience/Skills:

Active PMP cert - required
?8+ years IT software project management experience

?Experience and comfort in managing projects using varying methodologies (waterfall, agile, hybrid, etc.)

?Excellent issue, risk, decision and change control capabilities.

?Ability to establish key processes and norms that are necessary to monitor and control the project in the absence of existing standards and processes

?Excellent written and verbal communication skills ? delivers targeted, tailored messages appropriate to the audience using optimum communication channels and is comfortable interacting at all levels of the organization - executive leaders to highly technical resources

?In-depth problem solving and conflict resolution skills necessary to resolve disagreements between stakeholders and/or team members and quickly identifies issues and risks that can throw the project offtrack

?Possesses excellent time management skills in order to accomplish all of the administrative tasks necessary for status reporting and to provide executive leadership with comfort and trust that the project is under control

?Experience and comfortable in developing a project approach that meets the needs of the project stakeholders, while remaining inside project parameters (scope, schedule, budget, etc.)

Highly Desired:

?Previous use of Jira for project tracking and management

?Previous experience on both custom in-house developed software and COTS/SaaS implementation & maintenance projects.
