This position promotes best practicesnnand quality improvement processes in both hospital reportingnnimportance for the automation transition and pediatric preparednessnnprograms/initiatives. The position serves in coordinating thenndevelopment of statewide guidelines, aiding hospitals into annnautomated platform for hospital reporting, educational modules, andnnquality improvement resources/tools utilizing federal and nationalnnrecommendations/guidance, evidence-based guidelines and bestnnpractices specific to the delivery of hospital facility key elementsnnreporting along with pediatric emergency care. The position alsonnserves as a resource and technical advisor to, pre-hospital agencies,nnhospitals, other healthcare practitioners as well as non-health carennentities within our state to ensure hospital facility needs arennadequately addressed.nn nnEducation and/or Work ExperiencennRegistered Nurse (RN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or othernnsimilar certification combined with Hospital experience, preferrednnBachelor?s degree, supplemented with 3-5 years of previous hospitalnnand quality improvement job-related experience. Assist with development and launching of a state/jurisdictionnncapacity system that includes near-time bed capacity countsnnfor the state?s/jurisdiction?s acute care hospitals, includingnncritical access hospitals.nn? Must be able to manage user account and security parametersnnfor access to the web-based dashboard to coordinate daily,nnsurge, and crisis needs.nn? Help coordinate emergency department data, organized pernnNHSN definitions to Hospital Capacity Data Store at least twicennper day on an ongoing basis. Data would include emergencynndepartment (ED) census, ED Admitted census (boarding) andnnED pressure indicator by count of all patients in the ED thatnnhave a physician assigned.nn? Create possible items listed below to support thennstates'/jurisdiction?s ongoing participation in the NHSNnnConnectivity Initiative, such as:nn? Develop communications and training materials fornnonboarding identified stakeholders and hospital users.nn? Provide training and onboarding services to participatingnnhospitals and stakeholders.nn? Work with the state?s/jurisdiction's hospitals to collectnnnecessary information for dashboard development andnnimplementation.nn? Provide a common framework of data elements to include onnnthe dashboard and in the data feed.nn? Facilitate the gathering and engagement of hospitals? technicalnnstaff to work on automated and secured data feeds pernnspecifications supported by the web-based application.nn? Assist the state/jurisdiction to advise on shared governancennmodel(s) for discussions and decision-making to support thisnnwork.nn? Testing and validation of data feeds; and draft progressnnmilestone for inclusion in progress report/lessons learned.nn? Manages the participation and permission process/clearancesnn(to send data to NHSN) of participating hospitals. Alsonnprovides permission to allow for use of state?s/jurisdiction?snndata in conjunction with other participating entities fornnresearch and emergency planning by the state and federalnnhealth partners.nn? Obtain signed commitment from acute care hospitals in thennstate/jurisdiction to participate in the project through annnestablished participation agreement.nn? Provide ongoing instructions and serve as key resource tonnassist with the scaling of the CDC NHSN Connectivity Initiativennto other states/jurisdictions; and help to ensure that all termsnnof the CDC funding agreement are met.nn? Facilitates efforts to improve clinical and service outcomesnnthroughout the state as related to pediatric emergency care,nnutilizing federal/national guidance (including but not limited tonnthe American Academy of Pediatrics, Assistant Secretary fornnPreparedness & Response, Centers for Disease Control,nnEmergency Medical Services for Children, Federal EmergencynnManagement Agency, Institute of Medicine, Joint Commission).nn? Works with Indiana Emergency Departments to assess areas ofnnneed, conduct gap analyses, communicate pediatric standardsnnand disseminate resources as appropriate.nn?
