The position is more about helping/managing our sponsors and business units to execute on their initiatives. So someone that understands the phases of a project, is a good facilitator, and is organized enough to manage multiple projects would be really key. They don't have to be too deep in the project or make decisions about specific elements of the project...that's the business unit's responsibility.
This individual must be highly detailed oriented and a strong communicator, excelling in the abilities of listening carefully, facilitating conversations with all levels of an organization, and encouraging without judgement or bias. Essential job duties include:
• Develop detailed Project Management Plans for the enhancement, business process re-engineering, development effort, and/or strategic initiative. Accountable for the delivery of all work tasks identified in the Project Management Plan.
• Conduct requirements gathering, lead project kickoff meetings, assign project roles and responsibilities, schedule and lead the appropriate cadence of project meetings, and capture all project artifacts.
• Manage and track project progress against the project schedule. Take corrective action as needed to ensure the project is on schedule.
• Notify team leads of project timelines, milestones, phases, work requests target dates, and approved executable work packages.
• Responsible for the capture and reporting of required project management metrics and preparation of status reports on a periodic basis for the project team, team leads, group leads, Sponsor, and/or appropriate stakeholders.
• Ensure all changes to scope follow processes outlined in the PSERS Project Management Framework and are documented.
• Communicate, build relationships, and work with staff and leaders throughout an entire project's lifecycle.
• Anticipate issues and proactively address them. Identify and track issues that arise. Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related issues and resolution of issues.
• Manage several projects within the PSERS' enterprise portfolio.
• Accountable for the final project management evaluation review with stakeholders.

• Director, Enterprise Project Management Office
• Assigned Project's Sponsors and Unit Leaders across PSERS
