Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP Finance (FI) Consultant with expertise in S/4 HANA Finance to lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP FI modules, such as General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and Bank Accounting. The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of experience in S/4 HANA implementation, with prior exposure to pharma industry financial processes.
SAP FI or S/4 HANA Finance certification is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
SAP FI S/4 HANA Implementation:
Lead and participate in S/4 HANA Finance implementation projects, handling the end-to-end process from requirements gathering to go-live. Configure FI modules, leveraging the enhanced functionalities available in S/4 HANA.
Pharma Domain Expertise:
Apply knowledge of pharma-specific finance requirements, such as cost center allocations, compliance with regulatory standards, taxation, and financial reporting, to design customized solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.
General Ledger Accounting (GL):
Implement and configure General Ledger functionalities, including parallel ledgers, document splitting, and new G/L functionalities in S/4 HANA. Ensure smooth integration with Controlling (CO) for comprehensive financial reporting.
Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR):
Configure and support AP and AR modules, including integration with Bank Accounting and Treasury. Ensure smooth processing of vendor payments, customer billing, and collections using enhanced S/4 HANA features.
Asset Accounting (AA):
Implement Asset Accounting (AA) functionality to manage fixed assets, depreciation calculations, and asset lifecycle management, ensuring compliance with financial and legal reporting standards.
Financial Close and Consolidation:
Manage the financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing tasks. Configure and implement intercompany accounting, financial consolidations, and group reporting.
Bank Accounting and Cash Management:
Configure and support Bank Accounting and Cash Management, ensuring accurate tracking of cash flows, bank statements, and liquidity forecasts. Implement In-House Cash Management to optimize liquidity across business units.
S/4 HANA Finance Innovations:
Utilize S/4 HANA Finance innovations such as Universal Journal, Central Finance, Predictive Accounting, and Embedded Analytics to deliver enhanced financial reporting and decision-making support.
Data Migration and Integration:
Lead the migration of legacy data to S/4 HANA, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data. Collaborate with other module leads (e.g., CO, MM, SD) to ensure seamless integration across the SAP landscape.
Taxation and Compliance:
Configure SAP FI to ensure compliance with local taxation laws, GST, and regulatory standards specific to the pharma industry. Implement tax reporting and e-invoicing solutions as required.
Testing and Documentation:
Develop detailed test plans, conduct unit and integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT). Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, business processes, and test results.
End-User Training and Post-Go-Live Support:
Provide end-user training and develop training materials for finance teams. Offer post-go-live support to resolve any issues and ensure continuous improvement of SAP FI functionalities.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience:
6-8 years of experience in SAP Finance (FI), covering GL, AP, AR, AA, and Bank Accounting.
Minimum 1 year of S/4 HANA implementation experience, with deep knowledge of S/4 HANA Finance innovations.
Experience in the pharma industry is highly preferred, particularly in handling financial regulations, taxation, and compliance.
Certifications (Good to Have):
SAP Certified Application Associate - Financial Accounting (FI)
SAP S/4 HANA Finance certification
Any relevant S/4 HANA implementation certification.
Technical Skills:
Strong experience in configuring SAP FI modules including GL, AP, AR, AA, and Bank Accounting.
In-depth understanding of S/4 HANA Finance functionalities such as Universal Journal, New Asset Accounting, Group Reporting, and Central Finance.
Knowledge of tax configuration, including GST, withholding tax, and e-invoicing.
Experience with financial integration across other SAP modules such as CO, MM, SD, and Treasury.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strong focus on process improvement and financial transparency.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate with both finance and IT teams.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

Previous experience working in the pharmaceutical industry is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of financial regulations, cost structures, and compliance standards within the industry.
Project Experience:
Proven experience in at least one full lifecycle S/4 HANA Finance implementation, with involvement in all project phases from blueprinting to go-live.
