Title- SAM PRO Consultant

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implementation & Configuration: Lead the implementation of ServiceNow SAMPro modules, including configuring licensing models, entitlement structures, and discovery tools within ServiceNow to accurately capture and manage software assets.
  • Compliance & Audit Readiness: Monitor software usage and ensure licensing compliance, preparing the organization for software audits by maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Optimization & Cost Control: Analyze software usage data to identify optimization opportunities, eliminate unnecessary licenses, and recommend software spending adjustments to reduce costs.
  • Process Design & Improvement: Develop and implement best practices for SAM processes, including software request management, license tracking, renewal management, and de-provisioning.
  • Vendor Management: Work closely with vendors and stakeholders on software licensing agreements, negotiation strategies, and renewal management to maximize contract value.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Provide regular reports and dashboards to management on SAM metrics, trends, compliance status, and savings achieved, utilizing ServiceNow's reporting tools.
  • User Support & Training: Act as a point of contact for SAM-related inquiries, providing training and support to ensure effective use of the SAMPro platform across the organization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on software licensing trends, vendor policies, and SAM best practices to ensure the organization's SAM program is forward-thinking and resilient.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or related field.
  • ServiceNow Expertise: Proven experience in ServiceNow SAMPro module setup, configuration, and administration.
  • Certifications: ServiceNow SAM Pro certification is highly desirable; ITIL certification is a plus.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with software licensing models (e.g., SaaS, perpetual, subscription) and experience with ServiceNow Discovery and other SAM tools.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially with large datasets, to identify trends and insights for cost optimization.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Experience in project management or agile methodologies to ensure timely and efficient SAM project deliveries.
Experience:
  • Minimum 3–5 years in software asset management, preferably with hands-on ServiceNow SAMPro experience.
  • Strong background in IT asset management (ITAM) or SAM, with knowledge of license types, vendor policies, and compliance standards.
