Job Description -

Job Title: SAP Organizational Change Management (OCM) Communications Lead

Job Type: 6-Month Contract (likely to extend or convert)

Location: MN or Naperville, IL  (Remote with travel)

Travel: Less than 10%

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience in organizational change management communications, with a focus on large-scale SAP or enterprise-level technology transformations.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing communication plans for complex projects.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, engaging communications for diverse audiences.
  • Strong understanding of change management principles and the ability to tailor communication strategies to different organizational contexts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including SAP project teams, business leaders, and external vendors.
  • Experience with digital communication tools (e.g., SharePoint, internal communications platforms, email marketing software) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, yet collaborate effectively in a team environment.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and how they impact communication strategies in fast-moving project environments.
  • Prior experience in training or user adoption communications for large-scale enterprise software implementations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute communication strategies to support SAP-related change management initiatives, ensuring alignment with the broader OCM plan and organizational goals.
  • Create and deliver clear, engaging, and consistent communications for stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including executives, managers, end-users, and project teams.
  • Collaborate with the OCM and SAP teams to gather project updates, status reports, and key milestones, and translate this information into compelling communication materials.
  • Design and manage communication campaigns across multiple channels (e.g., email, intranet, newsletters, town halls, presentations) to ensure key messages are effectively communicated.
  • Monitor and assess communication effectiveness through surveys, feedback, and analytics, and adjust strategies as needed to maximize engagement and understanding.
  • Support the development of training and user adoption materials, working with instructional designers and trainers to ensure alignment between communication and training efforts.
  • Manage executive communications, ensuring senior leadership is well-prepared to communicate project status and benefits to the wider organization.
  • Support change champions and leaders in their communication efforts, providing them with tools and resources to effectively communicate with their teams.
  • Ensure all communication efforts reflect the organization’s brand, tone, and values, and reinforce the desired culture shift associated with the SAP transformation.
