As a Scrum Master in the Informatics department at Ambry Genetics, you will facilitate the Agile process, ensuring that the teams adhere to Agile principles and Scrum practices. You will act as a servant leader, removing obstacles, fostering an environment for high-performing team dynamics, and continuous improvement. Additionally, you will occasionally fulfill some Business Systems Analyst (BSA) responsibilities, such as collecting and documenting requirements. Your role is crucial in helping the team deliver high-quality solutions for both our internal stakeholders and external clients. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and excellent communication skills. Knowledge of genetic testing, molecular biology, or other scientific-related disciplines is a huge benefit but is not required. Essential Functions
Plan, prepare, and host PI (Program Increment) Planning events
Risk Management and mitigation relative to scope, timeline and resources
Track and communicate team progress, performance metrics, and sprint goals using JIRA and other tools
Facilitate stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
Resolving any open issues/impediments that the team faces during sprint execution
Coach team members on Agile principles and practices.
Promote continuous improvement within the team through retrospectives and feedback loops.
Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and BSAs to ensure alignment and consistency in Agile processes and scrum practices.
Work with technical leads and subject matter experts to ensure alignment with business logic and objectives
Facilitate Product Backlog Refinement (Grooming)
Travel up to 5% of the time (PI Planning events are held in person once a quarter)
