We are seeking a full-time contractor or employee for a Senior Appian Developer role.
Join the Information Technology (IT) Scheduled Releases team as an experienced Senior Appian Developer, supporting multiple projects simultaneously. This role involves independently designing and implementing Appian-based workforce application systems while contributing to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from development and testing to deployment and support.
Responsibilities:
  • Application Development: Design, implement, validate, and deploy new applications leveraging the latest Appian technologies.
  • Low-Code Development: Build user interfaces, process models, and data storage solutions within the Appian environment.
  • Software Lifecycle Management: Develop code, create artifacts such as test specifications, perform testing, and execute go-live activities.
  • Technical Analysis: Assess project requirements and align solutions with current architecture, operational environment, and future enhancements.
  • Agile Methodology: Work within an Agile framework to conduct impact analysis and prepare technical user stories for development.
  • Project Management: Utilize standardized project management tools, processes, and techniques to meet project needs effectively.
  • Standards and Best Practices: Assist in creating, maintaining, and enforcing global development standards. Develop internal best practices and a design guide for Appian development.
  • System Reliability & Performance: Ensure the availability, latency, scalability, and efficiency of Appian systems by engineering reliability into software and infrastructure.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Mentor junior Appian developers to enhance their skills and technical expertise.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Ensure adherence to program documentation standards, procedural guidelines, and organizational objectives.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional analysis, documentation, and operational support tasks as needed to facilitate team projects and maintain system functionality.

Required Skills:
  • Experience as a developer/programmer or a bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical or analytical field and five years of experience as a developer/programmer
  • Experience developing in a low code platform that includes an Appian Senior Developer Certification and recent hands-on experience in design and implementation of Appian applications
  • Experience with Appian components including Process Models, SAIL Forms, CDTs, records, reports, and integration
  • Experience with REST Web API development and API integration software such as MuleSoft
  • Experience with Cloud-based technologies such as AWS
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles, practices and techniques of application programming and software design to include ERWIN
  • Experience in building Appian CDTs and application integration with databases, including Oracle 11g, DB2, or MySQL
  • Skill in solving problems; in scheduling, testing, installing, and implementing programs; and in troubleshooting computer software systems
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio, Axure or Photoshop
  • Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) – Octane (Or earlier version ALM)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to serve as a technical consultant to peers, clearly and accurately document relevant issues, and prepare accurate, concise, reliable reports

  • Certification as an Appian Lead Developer
  • Agile Software Development Methodologies
  • Texas Workforce Commission experience
