We are seeking a full-time contractor or employee for the Senior DevOps Engineer position.

Job Description:

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, building, and deploying applications for Eligibility Supporting Technology, ensuring these applications and services remain current across all development, testing, training, and production environments. This role also involves providing environment triage support, offering on-call assistance during workdays, nights, and weekends to maintain high availability for developers, testers, trainers, and production users. The position operates with minimal supervision, allowing for significant initiative and independent judgment.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, monitor, and optimize batch jobs and operations.
  • Analyze current technology and create plans for improvement and expansion.
  • Implement and enhance a robust CI/CD solution, including development, coding, testing, building, installing, configuring, and maintaining IT solutions.
  • Review processes and deployments, proposing improvements to streamline code deployments and reduce errors.
  • Utilize configuration management software for automated updates and fixes across production and non-production environments.
  • Document processes and procedures.
  • Support activities and issues related to production and non-production environments.
  • Assist with releases and sprint-related tasks.
  • Provide enterprise-level solutions for existing automation while developing new ones.
  • Prepare proposal plans for approval.

Required Skills:
  • Experience automating the full lifecycle of complex enterprise IT environments using IaC, CaC, and CI/CD tools, supporting new environments and modifications in IBM WebSphere, MQ, Oracle products, and AWS.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing scalable, repeatable, and recoverable automation solutions.
  • Proven experience with tools like Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Liquibase.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages, such as Python, GoLang, Shell, Ruby, or Perl.
  • Experience with containers and orchestration platforms, including Kubernetes, PODMAN, Docker, OpenShift, and packaging tools like Helm Charts.
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:
  • Development experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, EJB, JSP, JSF/Struts, and XML is a significant advantage.
  • Experience with WebSphere ND, MQ, Oracle, SQL tools (PL/SQL Developer, SQL Plus), LDAP, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
