Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the lifecycle of embedded software projects from concept to delivery.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets; monitor progress against milestones and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, firmware engineers, and product managers.
  • Design, develop, and optimize embedded software solutions for aerospace applications.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, anticipate challenges, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors for third-party components integration.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, process evaluations, and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations and participate in product certification activities.
  • Update status reports, present project status to customers, and ensure consistent customer communication.
  • Understand and adhere to all export control regulations.
  • Travel locally to the customer facility as needed and comply with all customer site requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, or relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in project engineering of complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and technologies related to embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in project planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of programming languages used in embedded systems (e.g., C, C++, assembly language).
  • Experience with embedded software development tools, debugging techniques, and version control systems.
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded Linux platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer interfacing skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in project management/engineering in a regulated industry, preferably aerospace.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or FDA regulations.
  • Understanding of engineering outsourcing business practices.
  • Experience in writing or creating standard work, establishing processes, and documenting lessons learned.
