Location: Washington DC Job Type: Full-time/Contract Hourly Rate: $50 - $75 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement software solutions.
  • Write high-quality code in Java, Python, or C++.
  • Ensure software meets compliance standards for federal projects.
  • Perform troubleshooting, bug fixes, and optimize software performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps and QA, to streamline the development process.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in software development.
  • Expertise in one or more programming languages: Java, Python, or C++.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology for project management (optional).
  • Experience using Git for version control and code management.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD processes (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI).
  • Proficiency in deployment packaging tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with Remedy or other incident management systems to track and resolve issues.
  • Understanding of incident monitoring and handling troubleshooting of complex systems.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks like JUnit, Selenium, or TestNG.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Desired Certifications:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (for cloud infrastructure and services).
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (for security-focused development).
  • Oracle Certified Java Developer (for Java-focused software engineering).

Preferred Skills:

  • Containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) or Microservices.
  • RESTful API development experience.
  • Knowledge of performance optimization techniques in development and coding.
  • Understanding of federal standards for software development (e.g., FISMA, NIST).
