The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for the design and supervision of major engineering projects. This role
provides expert-level technical support, guides project execution from concept to completion, and ensures adherence
to industry standards, regulations, and project specifications. The Senior Civil Engineer is deeply involved in complex
design development, cost estimation, project management, and mentoring junior engineers. They play a critical role in
the success of high-profile projects by applying advanced engineering techniques and overseeing technical product
development.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Technical Support and Project Leadership: Provides expert-level technical support throughout the engineering
process, contributing to the design, analysis, and supervision of major construction projects.
? Project Analysis and Calculations: Analyzes project requirements and performs advanced technical
calculations in areas such as traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structure design to
ensure feasibility and compliance with industry standards.
? Field Inspections and Infrastructure Assessment: Inspects structures in the field to verify they meet project
specifications, safety standards, and regulatory compliance. Assists in inspecting aging infrastructure and
overseeing improvement projects to ensure continued safety and functionality.
? Design Review and Collaboration: Reviews engineering drawings, designs, and technical products to ensure
compliance with established specifications, standards, and codes. Collaborates with design originators to
resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs.
? Cost Estimation and Project Planning: Estimates project costs, personnel, and material needs, and prepares
project proposals. Assists in preparing project estimates, establishing completion dates, and managing project
schedules.
? Mentorship and Team Management: Mentors and provides guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.
Manages project teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of technical outputs. Ensures the use of best
practice engineering methods and advanced techniques in project execution.
? Advanced Technical Application: Applies advanced engineering principles to solve highly complex technical
issues, conduct advanced research, and resolve project challenges. Utilizes best practices and cutting-edge
methods in civil engineering design and construction.
? Technical Reporting and Documentation: Prepares detailed technical reports, design packages, and
specifications. Ensures all designs are code-compliant and meets the client?s and regulatory bodies'
requirements. Manages the submission process and maintains comprehensive project records.
? Project Quality and Compliance Oversight: Ensures all projects are completed on time, within budget, and
meet high-quality standards. Oversees environmental compliance and ensures adherence to all applicable
regulations.
? Innovative Design Techniques and Advanced Methods: Utilizes more advanced techniques and innovative
methods to drive efficient and effective solutions in civil engineering projects.
