Role: Senior Kafka Administrator

Location: New York or Alpharetta - only local (Hybrid model 3 days from office)

Duration:- Long Term

 

Job Description

 

  • Install, configure, and maintain Apache Kafka clusters.
  • Monitor Kafka cluster health and performance to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Perform data replication and backup procedures to prevent data loss.
  • Implement security measures to protect sensitive data within Kafka.
  • Develop and maintain Linux shell scripts for the automation of routine tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kafka and the underlying infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate Kafka into various applications.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest Kafka features and best practices.
  • Provide on-call support for critical issues outside of normal business hours.

 

Roles & Responsibility

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Kafka Administrator.
  • Strong understanding of Kafka architecture, internals, and deployment.
  • Proficiency in Linux shell scripting and system administration.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with cloud services, preferably AWS or Azure
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

 

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Certifications in Apache Kafka and Linux administration.
  • Experience with Ansible, Puppet, or other configuration management tools.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Java or Python.
