Job Title: Sr. Level CISCO Wireless Engineer

As a Wireless Engineer specializing in Wi-Fi network design and implementation, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, deploying, and maintaining wireless networks. Leveraging Wireless First principles and deploying Juniper Mist Access Points, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of wireless connectivity. This role combines expertise in networking, wireless technologies, and cloud management to deliver reliable, high-performance wireless connectivity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Wireless Network Design: Design robust, high-performance wireless networks utilizing Wireless First methodologies to create high density and resilient networks. Optimize AP placement and configuration to maximize coverage, capacity, and user experience.
- Wireless Deployments: Lead the implementation of replacing Cisco with Juniper/Mist wireless networks from conception to execution, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate wireless solutions into existing infrastructure.
- Operational Support: Provide operational support for wireless networks, including monitoring network performance, analyzing network traffic, and implementing proactive measures to ensure network stability and reliability. Identify and resolve issues related to signal interference, bandwidth constraints, and network congestion. Respond to and resolve network incidents and work with other IT teams to identify and address root causes of problems.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network designs, configurations, and performance metrics. Generate regular reports to communicate project status, performance trends, and key insights to stakeholders.
- Continuous Learning and Development: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in wireless networking. Continuously enhance your skills and knowledge through training, certifications, and hands-on experience.
Required/Preferred:
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Wireless or Juniper/Mist Wireless networks
- Advanced proficiency in networking principles, routing, network design, and common network protocols
- Understanding of RF principles, networking concepts, protocols, and architectures (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching)
- Familiarity with network security principles and best practices.
- Basic proficiency working with REST APIs
- Certifications: CCNA Wireless, CCNP, or similar
