TRN Systems Inc, is seeking a Technical Manager/Architect to join our team onsite in Carson City, Las Vegas or Reno, NV, to work on a Government Tax System modernization/implementation project. The Technical Manager/Architect is required to coordinate state resources, oversee and support implementation projects, develop transition strategies to minimize risk, ensure project goals are obtained, and prepare the agency for future operations. The project is implementing solutions based on a Microsoft stack.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Project Management
- Chair the Tech Sub Committee for agency modernization efforts and report findings to the PMO.
- Work with related stakeholders to implement technology solutions that include status documentation, reporting, metrics, and benchmarks.
- Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure they meet the technical needs of the department in a cost-effective manner.
- Work with IT stakeholders (i.e., agency Solution Architect) to keep them up-to-date of changes in IT business processes and design schema.
- Help manage Agency IT staff on the project and keep Solution Managers up-to-speed on their employee engagements and assignments on the project.
Business Value
- Develop productive relationships with business leaders, IT leaders and product owners across the organization to influence how the project management technical subcommittee group can provide new sources of value.
- Introduce innovative operational capabilities that enhance employee productivity and security.
- Oversee benefits realization to ensure business outcomes are achieved.
Implementation Support
- Collaborate and support Agency IT and Business staff, and system integrator with the technical development of Agency modernization initiatives including alignment with State policies and procedures, solution development, knowledge transfer, data conversion, reporting and infrastructure administration.
Strategy & Vision
- Provide leadership, vision, governance, strategy, direction, and delivery to the project management technical subcommittee group to ensure it will contribute to the department s goals focusing on cost, functionality, performance, and security.
- Participate in IT budget planning and IT Strategy planning.
Technical Analysis & Guidance
- Provide technical analysis to the project management group that includes technical design analysis and system architecture recommendations to ensure projects are completed on planned due dates and within the budget.
- Provide insights to integrate current and emerging technologies.
- Act as a solution architect to ensure the solution supports the current and future needs.
Data Conversion & Migration
- Work with Agency stakeholders to develop and implement data conversion and migration strategy
- Design, develop, and execute data conversion and migration strategy
- Design, develop, and execute external interface strategy
- Identify and track metrics to monitor benefits realization
Infrastructure & Reporting
- Oversee Infrastructure and Reporting needs
- Evaluate existing infrastructure and hardware and create plans for future needs
