Job Title :Google BigQuery Developer

Position Overview
We are seeking a Google BigQuery Developer with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Python, and SAS to join a dynamic team at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BCBST). This role is essential to the completion of a critical migration project by the end of the year. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing complex information systems to meet the evolving needs of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- System Design & Development: Formulate and define system scope and objectives by conducting research and fact-finding, designing and developing complex systems, and integrating them into existing processes.
- Application Optimization: Modify and optimize application systems to improve operational efficiency, including system capacity, response time, and overall performance.
- Coding & Testing: Write, code, test, debug, and document programs, subroutines, and scripts. Develop and implement system test plans, data verification methods, and standard operating procedures.
- Project Leadership: Serve as a technical lead or project lead on small to medium-sized projects. Coordinate work assignments and verify results of applications systems analysis and programming efforts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business users and analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- System Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Respond to system failures and performance issues, taking corrective actions to reduce downtime and eliminate recurring problems.
- Knowledge Transfer & Training: Conduct presentations and training sessions to ensure end users maximize their use of the developed systems.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership on assigned projects and mentor less-experienced analysts and programmers.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent technical experience. One year of technical experience is equivalent to one year of academic study.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years (preferably 5+) of system analysis and programming experience.
- Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), SAS, and Python.
- Expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing data systems.
- Skills:
- Strong technical communication skills, both in writing and verbally.
- Proven ability to lead medium to complex technology-based projects.
- Experience with Cognos, Tableau, SSIS, SSRS, and Cobol is a plus.
- Familiarity with the health insurance industry is preferred.
Desired Skills & Certifications
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google BigQuery, Python, SAS, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Additional Skills: Knowledge of Cognos, Tableau, SSIS, SSRS, and Cobol will be beneficial.
- Industry Experience: Previous experience working within the health insurance industry is a plus.
