Job Description: We are seeking a strong Data Engineer with a background in property & casualty insurance to support the creation of a second workstream within their Guidewire DataMart. This position is ideal for candidates from a consultant background.
Required Skills & Experience:
1. At least 5+ years in data engineering, with hands-on experience with tools such as Guidewire, Azure, and Databricks.
2. Familiarity with data lakes, Python programming, and deploying to Databricks.
3. Full scope property & casualty insurance experience, including data management and analysis specific to this sector.
4. Familiarity with Synapse.
5. A track record of engineering experience by processing large datasets and building scalable applications and Rapid Prototyping
6. Solid experience in Object Oriented Programming in Java or C# or Python
7. Experience in Angular/React and building SPA applications
8. Solid experience in developing custom Data Pipelines to extract data, map data, transform data, and to load data in various data stores like RDBMS, Oracle, S3, PL/SQL, and / or shared drives.
9. Solid experience in Python and libraries such as Panda /NumPy, etc. or Spark
10. Demonstrable experience developing scripting in Linux and Windows
11. Experience with migrating applications to AWS (Cloud) will be an added advantage
12. Knowledge of Cloud computing concepts (AWS) and using CI/CD tools
13. Familiar with extracting data from REST APIs
14. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with on call responsibilities
15. Oracle/Snowflake experience is a plus
