The incumbent will serve as the DOH project manager for implementation of modifications to the current Electronic Disease Surveillance System (EDSS). This would include: (a) developing proficiency with the current Communicable Disease Electronic Surveillance System (EDSS) and related data; (b) soliciting requirements to identify necessary changes to the current EDSS; (c) documenting feedback from program and Local Health Departments (LHDs); (d) documenting and tracking progress in implementing the required changes, and (e) other applicable tasks. The incumbent must create appropriate documentation of code repositories and technical design documents, release management process including technical steps to promote, test and release through the development environment, coordinating with EDSS Manager and infrastructure staff.   

Requirements

  • This is an 100% Onsite
  • This position requires at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a related discipline. A copy of the degree must be submitted with the Candidate Proposal Response.
  • 6 years’ experience in project management
  • 6 years’ experience in Electronic Communicable Disease Surveillance Systems
  • 6 years’ experience in implementing large scale systems modifications or implementation of systems projects
  • 6 years’ experience eliciting, documenting and managing requirements for a system modifications
  • 6 years’ experience in SQL

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 years’ experience in project management certified by Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • 6 years’ experience with Object Oriented Development methodology and design from specifications expressed by use cases, class diagrams, interaction diagrams and sequence diagrams.
  • 6 years’ experience with redesigns focusing on improving user experience and user interfaces
