Detailed job responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will monitor SAN environment and backups, remediating and documenting incidents. Oversee storage capacity and performance. Coordinate team activities and manage tickets’ queue. Develop workload projections to estimate future resource requirements. Analyze the impact of new technologies on processor and storage/backup perpetual utilization and performance. Construct storage capacity plans and manage capacity utilization. Support disaster recovery sizing activities. Participate in on-call rotation. Troubleshoot and remediate issues. Ensure all storage and backup infrastructure is always at supported levels and in compliance.
1. This position requires a BA/BS in Computer Science with 7 or more years of prior experience in these specific technical disciplines in mission-critical environments OR an equivalent experience supporting complex SAN environments.
2. This position requires advanced knowledge of the following technologies: SAN, NAS, DAS, CAS, Unified Storage Architectures, Storage Virtualization, FC, NFS, CIFS, FCoE, and iSCSI.
3. Must possess the aptitude to learn and meet project objectives.
4. Must have expert-level knowledge and experience managing and troubleshooting enterprise and mid-tier class storage arrays from NetApp, Pure Storage, and EMC.
5. Expert-level knowledge and experience managing and troubleshooting storage virtualization.
6. Expert-level knowledge and experience managing and troubleshooting Storage Area Network (SAN) specifically Brocade Director Class hardware.
7. Expert-level knowledge with concepts like dynamic tiering & allocation, deduplication, replication and snapshots
8. Knowledge and experience with data backup and recovery utilizing Commvault.
9. Familiarity with cloud storage providers a plus.
10. Experience with operating systems such as Unix (AIX), Linux (Red Hat), IBM Power series, and VMware is a plus.
11. Experience planning and conducting Disaster Recovery exercises along with their documentation and methodologies.
12. Strong problem-solving skills.
13. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
14. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and associates with varying degrees of technical experience.
