Job Description :

Job Title: VSI OpenVMS Database Admin

Location: Remote
Duration: 6-12+ Months (Possible Extension)

Note: Must be USC/GC only

Job Description:

  • Experience with VSI OpenVMS
  • Be able to identify OpenVMS issues relating to Oracle RDB such as performance, logicals, batch jobs, file protections
  •  
  • Be familiar with user identifiers and the Authorize utility
  • Experience with Oracle RDB
  • Be able to perform RDB database backups and restores
  • Use RMU/ANALYZE to identify fragmentated records, bad indexes, etc
  • Use RMU/EXTRACT to generate DDL as needed
  • Be able to create indexes, add/remove tables and columns
  • Use RMU/SHOW Statistics to identify performance and locking issues
  • Use RDB tools to identify locks and blockers and remedy those quickly
  • Understands Oracle SQL/Services and SQL*NET for RDB (Also called OCI Services)
  • Use RDB debug flags to identify inefficient indexes and problem queries
