Job Title : Mainframe Storage Engineer

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe Storage Engineer to join our team at NetVision Resources Inc. This role will primarily focus on supporting and enhancing virtual tape storage systems and associated infrastructure, working within a dynamic and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with mainframe systems, tape management, and storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Strategic Initiatives: Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and streamline system processes.
- Collaborate with Teams: Serve as the technical lead working alongside applications teams and stakeholders to ensure platform stability and performance.
- System Maintenance & Support: Assist in the implementation of system and software updates, troubleshoot platform and application issues, and provide system administration support.
- Documentation & Reporting: Document processes, procedures, and configurations according to best practices. Produce clear, comprehensive operational documentation.
- Daily Operations: Perform routine operational support, including problem isolation, resolution, and status updates on tasks and projects.
- Additional Responsibilities: Support the team with ad-hoc tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 7+ years of experience as a Mainframe Storage Engineer.
- 7+ years of experience with monitoring and resolving issues in virtual tape architectures.
- 5+ years of experience with Dell/EMC VSM, VLE, and ZFS Virtual Tape Libraries.
- 5+ years of experience with IBM Job Control Language (JCL).
- 4+ years of experience with CA-1 Tape Management System (TMS) and CA Vantage.
- 4+ years of experience with Disaster Recovery planning, testing, and restoration for virtual tape systems.
- 3+ years of experience in designing and building Storage Management Systems (SMS).
- 2+ years of experience with Data Domain Management Center (DDMC).
- 2+ years of experience using TSO and ISPF on mainframe systems.
- Strong expertise in Linux command-line environments.
Preferred Skills
The following skills and experiences will be considered a plus:
- Expertise in z/OS and virtual tape systems.
- Experience with Cyber Recovery for virtual tape systems.
- Experience in designing, installing, and configuring storage hardware in multi-node environments.
- Ability to create project plans, engineering scripts, and documentation to migrate workloads to virtual tape.
- Previous Federal government experience.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and a proactive team player in dynamic environments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
