Job Title : Senior Project Manager – PMP Certified

Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and PMP-certified Senior Technical Project Manager to lead and deliver complex IT projects within its Asset Management Division. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, and the ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholders in a hybrid work environment.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing large-scale, multi-stream IT projects, preferably in both Scaled Agile and Waterfall environments. Familiarity with VITA standards is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the successful delivery of complex IT projects in alignment with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Standard for Project Management.
- Oversee all project phases: Preselect, Initiation, Planning, Execution & Control, and Closeout.
- Serve as a hands-on technical project manager, working directly with development staff and business stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, risk registers, and communication strategies.
- Coordinate resource allocation with IT Division leadership and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Communicate timelines, expectations, and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Lead collaborative efforts among cross-functional technical teams, vendors, consultants, and contractors.
- Manage contracts and procurement activities in coordination with appropriate offices.
- Ensure projects adhere to VDOT and VITA project governance and documentation standards.
- Facilitate requirements gathering, design workshops, and user acceptance testing.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators and project metrics.
- Support training efforts for system and application rollouts.
